Linkin Park in Greece, or feedback for what happened
June 28, 2008 0 CommentsAs I was there, I will also share some thoughts about the event and I hope someone out there will see this and take it into consideration. Before I start, I would like to state that the following statements are for the sake of Improvement. The Organization First of all - Organization - honestly, I can’t imagine worst organization. From 1 to 10, ill give 1, and explain why later on. Starting with the process of letting people in the park. The people that were waiting for hours in front of the main entrance (I was one of first to stay in front of the gate) were pulled back and mixed up with the waiting crowd in the back. First mistake - they shouldn’t have gathered us all together and then letting us in. Some of you remember the results - screaming people, who were smashed under the raging tides of people (which could have thought a little bit bout that, but ofc they showed they cant), wanting to enter, pushing everything in sight. I saw at least 5 girls fainting at that point and at least five more almost smashed against the fence. Improvement -the organizers could have used the lines that are initially formed in front of the gate and just push us back a bit, keeping those lines. Then, they could have let us in one by one, starting from 5 o’clock. That’s how they would have had enough time and MORE OVER - prevent those accidents. Also before the concert I thought there will be several entrances, I’m not sure if there were others, but I hope there were. Second mistake - I know that the event was in Greece, but pls guys, they were people coming from other countries as well, and me and the others couldn’t understand anything at all. Thanks to the people that helped us with the translation :) Next time - I hope u will announce everything in English as well. Third mistake - I clearly read the rules posted on the right side of the entrance, which stated that any kind of spikes, flares and other kinds of weapons will not be allowed inside the park, as well as people under influence of alcohol will not be let in. Well, I didn’t see anyone checking the backpacks, or any of the fans for sharp objects. Furthermore, later on the concert I saw people moshing. You will say - ofc they will mosh, that’s a concert. I have nothing against that, but when they stopped I could feel the smell of rum and other alcohols from them. Again - if the security had more time, they could have easily do their work and check everybody. Next mistake - ok, there was probably purpose for setting up second barrier, that’s for sure, but pls tell, what was it? When we all gather at it, all of the guys started to push the people to the front so thy will not miss to take the best spots. Total lack of security of the fans (thanks god I’m 1.95 and I could survive). And removing the second barrier caused stampede. I didn’t have any choice than to run, but I hope no one have tripped and fell to the grounds, cuz if this have happened, he would have been run over. Again - letting people the last minute might help u start the concert but will not prevent any injuries or even something worse. Moving on to the next mistake - and what happen for letting us ALL at 6 o'clock? We waited for the crew to tune the mikes for almost hour. Well, honestly I think that could have been done earlier, what about you? And why I’m giving the organization 1 point? Well, they really helped some of the girls and others that faint being almost smashed by pulling them out of the raging crowd. Another thing that really helped us was the water that distributed. Although it wasn’t used as it was supposed, the staff did great job bout this aspect ( Im putting the next lines in brackets cuz im not sure if this was orga's fault or the traveling company, but yes, im talking about not having enough buses to go back to Athens, and ofc, the prize. Well for paying 8 eu initially for round-trip ticket, they wanted 10 eu just for going to Athens. And once again I WANT TO THANKS THE GIRLS THAT HELPED US WITH THE TRANSLATION AND GIVING US SOME TIPS. THANK YOU) The Concert Well, although I didn’t really like The Blackout, I can honestly say that they did their best and I hope the guys will make a break in the charts and the world scene. Now about LP - well, everybody will agree that the concert was flawless. The guys did their best and I really had f*****g great time that I will never forget. Just want to make a remark - I've watched quite a number of their concerts, I think that they sort of underestimated the stop in Greece and didn’t have as much interaction with the fans as on most of the other concerts. I know that comparing this one with the concerts in US and Ger, the concert in GR was quite smaller, this cant be a reason. Anyways, thank you guys for the best time ever. You really rocked TerraVibe with the performance and I hope you'll another stop on the Balkans during your next tour. My words start to Run Away ;) writing about the concert, so ill just write it once again - FLAWLESS. Thank you
P.S. SORRY FOR THE SPAM, but i really wanted to state my opinion. Once again, i did write all these things just for the sake of Improvement and don’t want to hurt someone's feelings. That’s my personal opinion. If come up with something else, ill post again ;) LP 4ever \n/ d
