Make Music With Mike - At WeMix.com!

A quick email to spread the word about two great things happening right now: As many of you know, my "Glorious Excess" art show just concluded in Los Angeles, with brand new books, skate decks, and prints available on mikeshinoda.com.

To celebrate the show, I've partnered with a great new website called WeMix.com. The site was created by Chris "Ludacris" Bridges; it's a place for new musicians to collaborate, and a place for fans to discover new up-and-coming artists.

My contest is live right now. Using my art as a theme--in any way you like--you go to WeMix.com, upload your original songs, beats, vocals. I'm going to pick my 5 favorite songs, and then the WeMix community will vote for the winner.

The winner will go straight into the studio to record a full version of their song. I'll join you to personally help out.

Linkin Park Concerts to Benefit Earthquake Relief in China

Linkin Park has announced upcoming Music for Relief concerts in Shanghai on October 12 and Beijing on October 19 in which a portion of the proceeds will be contributed to MFR for the earthquake-hit Sichuan area in China. The World Bank has announced that it will be matching funds raised at the concerts for post-earthquake reconstruction projects initiated by Chinese civil society organizations.

"Music For Relief was established to respond to natural disasters to help victims recover and rebuild," said Chester. "We hope our efforts in China will provide assistance to people affected and continue to raise international awareness about the reconstruction-related projects."

Tickets are on sale now for the Shanghai date at www.ticketmaster.cn and go on sale for the Beijing date on August 11.
