FAQ FOR LP LIVE DOWNLOAD

BUYING YOUR LP LIVE DOWNLOAD CD

Q: Where can I purchase the LP Live Download CD?

A: The CDs with audio download codes are available ONLY at merchandise booths located at Projekt Revolution concert venues. Unfortunately, these CDs are currently not available for purchase online.

Q: What are the Technical Requirements?

A: Please refer to the Terms of Use

REDEEMING A DOWNLOAD CODE

Q: How many times can I use my code?

A: You may use the code to download the audio performance of the show one (1) time only.

Q: Can I use my code to download a different night's performance?

A: No. The download code will only work to download the performance at the same venue from which you purchased the LP Live Download CD.

Q: Why is my Code invalid?

A: Please make sure you are using the same personal information, originally entered the first time you attempted to redeem your code. If your email address does not match as originally entered, the error "Invalid Code" will appear.

Q: I lost my code, can I get another one?

A: Unfortunately, LinkinPark.com is not responsible for lost or stolen Codes and we are unable to provide replacements.

DOWNLOADING A PERFORMANCE

Q: When will the performance be available to download?

A: In order to ensure the highest quality of the show, each audio file will now be available for download within five (5) business days of the performance instead of 3 to allow time for mixing/mastering. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

EXAMPLE: If your concert was on a Monday, the audio file will be available on or before Saturday. If your concert is on a Wednesday, the audio file will be available on or before the following Monday.

Q: How long will the file be available to download?

A: Once a performance is posted on the website (which can take up to 5 business days), the audio file will be available for 3 full days AFTER the performance is posted on the website. After which time, the file will no longer be available to download.

EXAMPLE: If the performance is posted on Monday, you will have until 12am Thursday to download. If the performance is posted on Wednesday, you will have until 12am Saturday to download.

Q: What happens after I click 'Download Now'?

A: A zipped file folder with the audio performance tracks will automatically begin downloading. You can track the file download via your browser's download manager.

If you're not sure what to do once the file downloads to your computer, the following information may be helpful.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR WINDOWS VISTA USERS:

If you are having any trouble opening the zip file on Vista, you will need to download a third party software to extract the files -- this is because there is a known bug in Vista that determines files zipped by a Mac running OS X as corrupt and therefore, will not extract the files. In order to post the audio files in a timely manner, all of the LP Live Download files are created on the road by the LP production team using Mac machines.

The audio files can be successfully extracted from the .ZIP files using third party software such as:

During the download process, be sure to select the third party software to automatically open all compressed files.

After you've successfully installed one of the third party programs, you should be able to return to the download and complete the following steps:

  1. Download the music file
  2. Select the third party .zip file extractor (it should be the default)
  3. Select "Save to Disk" and the .zip file will save to your default download location
  4. The file will automatically be changed to open with the third party .zip file extractor
  5. Click on the folder with music files (not the Mac OS X folder)
  6. Click on "Extract" or "Extract To"
  7. Choose the destination of where the files should be extracted to, then click OK
  8. The music folder will then be extracted to your selected location and will be ready to play the files

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR WINDOWS XP USERS:

  1. When asked by your internet browser if you would like to open or save the file to your computer, be sure to select "Open."
  2. After the file has downloaded and the .zip file has opened in a new window, choose the music file folder (not titled MAC OS X) and drag it to your desktop.

Mac Users / Safari:

  1. The file should automatically begin downloading after you click "Download Now." After it has downloaded, the file should unarchive itself and create a folder containing all of the tracks.

Mac Users / Mozilla Firefox:

  1. When asked by Firefox "What should Firefox do with this file?" you can do one of the following:
    • "Open with" Stuffit Expander
    • "Save to disk"
  2. After the .zip file has downloaded, it should automatically retrieve all of the files and create a folder on your desktop with the tracks inside.

Q: How do I unzip a downloaded file?

A: Please make sure your hardware and software meet the technical requirements for download. Your operating system or browser should automatically unzip the file for you.

In most cases the file will automatically unzip via your browser or operating system. If for some reason your browser does not unzip the file, the following information may be helpful.

WINDOWS VISTA USERS: Please see the section below called 'Troubleshooting'

WINDOWS XP USERS: After the file has downloaded and the .zip file has opened in a new window, choose the music file folder (not titled MAC OS X) and drag it to your desktop.

Mac Users / Safari:

  1. If the .zip file does not automatically unzip, double click on the .zip file and it should automatically unarchive.

Mac Users / Mozilla Firefox:

  1. If the .zip file does not automatically unzip, double click on the .zip file and it should automatically unarchive.
