Hey so. I'm from California. 23 and I love to cook! I loved it sooo much that I became a chef! I also Got really into Music and writing lately. I love to do a lot of outdoor activities, like wakeboard, snowboard, fishing, golf(occasionally), Jog, Hike, rock-climb, plus many more things that I like that involve sports plus just jerkn around w/ my buddies. The last concert I've been to was at the family values tour w/ LP. My brother was suppose to jam w/ me but He told me to give up my ticket and sit in the nosebleeds so he can party w/ this other chick that he met a week agp. THE COMPETITION WAS AWAESOME!
April 14, 2008I was breathing heavily and thought I wasn't gonna make it!
At the beginning the host and organizer of the event gave us all a synopsis of what was going to be happening, how long we have and how many entrees we would be doing. I was like MAN it' time for my game face! I had 4 hrs of prep time and I was like sweating away the time! Just seeing the guy on the right.....then the guy on the left......then looking all around. I was thinking to myself.....this is intense! I was doing ok until my reduction burned and I couldn't get any coconut milk. I was trying to keep calm thinking to myself it's just a show case. Then thinking to myself DUDE THIS IS A FREAKING SHOWCASE~!!! they are judging me on taste, look, height, originality, creativity and use of the waited to see "secret ingredient". I tried to stay calm until finally I heard "10 Minutes until stop time"> I was in a rush and needed to finish pounding out my scalopinies. When we came on stage I checked out my corner and oven w/ stove. and I was like I can't work an electrical! WHERE'S MY GAS! DAMN stupid brode was like "we can't allow open flame in a closed auditorium!" BITCH! whatever! Finally came the secret ingredient! FREAKIN PEPPERS! i was like DUDE lets ROCK! im a beaner w/ an attitude and I got something to prove! I hustled through and showed all the chefs around me I was no joke! we had one hour to compile all of our prep into this one ingredient and I did my best! Now it was time for the judging. but before that they had other arrangements. who was going to bid the highest for their own personal chef for a night with 5 other friends! Well I didn't win that one! LOL! then came then best choice award. Since their were lots of people from other restaurants there I didn't think I had a chance! But GUESS WHAT! MY NAME WAS FREAKN CALLED! YEA BOY! then came the moment of truth! I was left w/ 3 other chefs to decide who was the best! My heart was pounding as they gave the envelope to the host and as soon as looked at it he was just strickn with a smile! glanced to his left and said "Your top chef for this evening that won the judges appeal is Chef Carlos from DEWZ restaurant! I was just shocked! JUST SHOCKED! to win 2 awards! I walked out of there with gratefulness and exhaustion in knowing that I have a lot of dishes to put away in the kitchen where I made my mess! LOL!
