The Reason Why I Stopped Posting / Sad But True - Art Stealers
September 1, 2009Hi friends.
Originally, I wanted to do a wrap-up post with all the pictures I've done during vacation and even some of my first drawings and paintings I've done during my first month at Art Academy. This is what stopped me.
Someone stole my artwork again. And even made a present for the band out of it without my permission or my name on it. As you can see, it's just a copy of my LP Kids Style Special sketch that I made a while ago (I'm still experimenting with the coloring...) and which you can find in the gallery here.
This just happens too often!
EDIT (09-15-09): Nazami, who covered this picture, contacted me and apologized for having forgotten to credit my name. I accepted, cause I really find she's made a good example on being honest. Take that as an ideal, guys! /EDIT
Seriously, this is not funny anymore. Let's all remember the rules.
READ, people! Picture Stealing is not only against the rules of this website (and the LPU) but also against the LAW! And not only in the US, but also in almost every other country. You can be PUNISHED for it! Is it worth risking to be taken to court?! Be creative yourself! You're hurting artists' feelings!
IF YOU EVER WANT TO DO A REMAKE/REMIX OF MY STUFF:
You can, BUT FIRST:
ASK ME for permission via e-mail. You can contact me under mao-chan@gmx-topmail.de, and this is the only way. I will not give out permission on messengers or in comments/forums.
ONCE YOU HAVE PERMISSION, and only then, create your remake/remix and include my LPN nicname (MaoChouChan) ON the artwork itself and, if you want to put it up on the internet, include my website URL (mao.linkinpark.com) and, if the artwork looks very similar to my original version, a logo, which I will sent you via e-mail.
Thank you for reading. I will continue posting artwork (with signatures and watermarks then, sorry guys) as soon as people have insight. I know that stealing will never stop, but I appreciate every comment, blog post or flagging of stealers to help me protect my (or other artist's) property, at least within the LP fan community.
